Introduction

This course provides a summary of key leadership trends, best practices, controversies and debates, particularly as applied to the law enforcement context. Students will be challenged to research, synthesize and articulate leadership best practice.

  • Syllabus Measurable Learning Outcomes:
    • Identify and analyze the different styles of leadership.
    • Compare and contrast leadership and management.
    • Identify the qualities of a good law enforcement leader.
    • Examine the role of followers/team members and leaders in law enforcement.
    • Identify what motivates followers/team members in law enforcement.
    • Apply a Christian worldview to leadership within a law enforcement organization.
