Data Literacy: Introduction

This guide serves as an overview of data literacy to those within the Liberty University community looking to do research, both with non-human and human subject alike. It will provide resources, definitions, and ethical considerations when conducting research.

The areas in which this guide will cover will be: 

• What data literacy is
• Finding, creating, and managing data
• Analyzing and visualizing your data

Data literacy is the ability to understand, manage, interpret, analyze, and communicate data effectively. It also involves how one understands data and the practices to best apply and reproduce it for future researchers. To get a good idea of what data literacy is we have resources in our collection that can be beneficial in any area of conducting research.
