Library of Congress Subject Headings

Books in the Jerry Falwell Library are organized according to the Library of Congress system.  If you would like to browse the shelves, books for social work may be found in the following Library of Congress subject headings.

  • BF: Psychology
  • GN: Anthropology
  • HN: Social History and Conditions. Social Problems. Social Reform.
  • HQ: The Family. Marriage. Women
  • HT: Communities. Classes. Races.
  • HV: Social Pathology. Social and Public Welfare. Criminology

However, you would usually have more comprehensive results by browsing the electronic catalog, because it displays books that are in the Book Tower, in the storage and retrieval system, as well as electronic books we have available.
