Here are some helpful tools to get you accustomed to searching NexisUni, formerly known as Lexis Nexis.
Start by clicking the link for NexisUni.
Select Search by Content Type (it's in a box near the top of the page)
Select Federal and State Cases from the menu that appears. The search box will re-appear; now it is ready to search cases.
Enter search terms or citation #, or the name of a party to the case. Take a look at the Advanced options (link below the search box) as well to narrow your search. For this class, let's narrow our search to Illinois state cases, by marking that check box.
The results list will be sorted by relevance. You can change the sort order.
Along the left side of the screen are options for refining the search by jurisdiction, publication name or language.
